From 2011 to 2016 he was head of the Advanced Industries Sector division of McKinsey in the EMEA area (Europe, Middle East and Africa): he was involved in aerospace and defence, automotive and assembly, plant engineering and industrial electronics.

He holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Genoa and a master's degree in business administration from INSEAD, the French business management school.
