The Meeting of friendship among peoples, better known as the Rimini Meeting, the event organized by the Foundation "Meeting for friendship among peoples" and close to the galaxy of Communion and Liberation, began on 20 August. This year the Meeting, which is entitled "Human existence is an inexhaustible friendship", is in its 44th edition.

THE 44TH EDITION OF THE RIMINI MEETING

The meeting in Rimini began with a mass officiated by the president of the CEI , Cardinal Zuppi. Since 1980 it has become, over the years, a fixed appointment in the late summer for Italian politicians and business class. The participation of the president of the Constitutional Court, Silvana Sciarra, nine ministers, politicians of different alignments together with regional governors and local administrators is expected to participate in the ciellina event.

THE PARTNERS OF THE "MEETING FOR FRIENDSHIP AMONG PEOPLES" FOUNDATION

The "Meeting for friendship among peoples" Foundation can make use of the collaboration of three important partners for the meeting: the Italian Association of Cultural Centers, the Compagnia delle Opere (entrepreneurial association that has forty offices in Italy and associates 34,000 companies) and the Foundation for Subsidiarity.

THE FINANCERS OF THE RIMINI MEETING

The meeting also boasts a large number of sponsors. The three main partners are Intesa Sanpaolo, Tim and Cattolica Assicurazioni. Alongside them are the Official Partners which include companies such as Eni, Ferrovie dello Stato, Invitalia, Engineering, Confagricoltura, Ania, Automobile Club Italia, Enel, Isybank (Intesa Sanpaolo group) and Autostrade per l'Italia.

THE “TECHNICAL” PARTNERS OF THE RIMINI MEETING

The meeting boasts important collaborations also from a technical point of view. The "mobility partner" is Toyota while the "Communication Partner 2023" is the communication agency Comin&Partner.

PUBLIC SUBSIDIES TO THE CL

As reported in its social report, the Meeting Foundation, as a third sector entity "makes use of grants and contributions from public administrations and other entities referred to by Law No. 124 of 4 August 2017". Public contributions for 2022 have been limited to those of the Emilia-Romagna Region, which has disbursed 30 thousand euros.

THE PUBLIC FUNDS OF 2021

It had gone better in 2021 when the Foundation had received 25 thousand euros from the Liguria Region, around 142 thousand euros as Covid refreshments from the Revenue Agency and another 94 thousand euros, always under the force of Covid refreshments by the Ministry of Tourism. To this must be added concession/lease/free loan agreements by the Municipality of Rimini for a corresponding economic value of 122,366 euros.

THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF 5 PER THOUSAND

The Rimini meeting is also financed through the collection of 5×1000 . According to documents published in 2020, the Foundation received 46,676.81 euros from these contributions. “Furthermore, the fundraising activity has retained the loyalty of many recurring donors over the years”, reads the social report. In 2022 there were 2,525 donors, an increase of 3.61% compared to the previous year when there were 2,437.

THE CREATION OF VALUE

Investing in the Rimini meeting pays off. The Meeting Foundation, as reported in its social report, states that during 2022 it generated economic value of 6,639,048 Euros. “This generated value was sufficient to cover all expenses incurred during the year (distributed value equal to 6,494,503 Euros) – reads the financial statements -, as well as depreciation, despite a slightly negative operating result. The value generated was used to cover expenses towards suppliers, to cover expenses towards lenders and the Public Administration and for compensation due to personnel".
